The November election is just around the corner. How does it look both nationally and in Illinois? Will the Democrats keep the U.S. Senate? Can Pat Quinn and Dick Durbin beat back their multi-millionaire challengers? Hear the insights of a nationally known political strategist and consultant.
Join us Monday, October 20th, 6:30 p.m. (food and refreshments), 7:15 p.m. (meeting), at the 49th Ward Democratic Party Office, 1774 W. Greenleaf (at Ravenswood) for our regular monthly meeting. Noted political insider Peter Giangreco will share his insights on the strengths and challenges confronting the Democrats leading into November's election.
One of the nation's top political strategists and a partner in The Strategy Group, Pete Giangreco has pioneered targeting and research techniques that have made his direct mail some of the most effective in the country. He served as the lead direct mail consultant to President Obama in his 2008 campaign, an appointment that capped years of electing candidates at all levels, including electing US senators and three new Democratic governors.
We'll also get an update on the battle for immigration reform. Joining us will be Lawrence Benito, CEO and Executive Director of the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights. ICIRR is dedicated to promoting the rights of immigrants and refugees and has been in the forefront in the fight for immigration reform.
Finally, we'll fill you in on our planned activities for the final three weeks of the campaign. The 49th Ward with its heavily Democratic voter base is critical to the success of the Democrats statewide. If our folks don't turn out, Democrats won't win. We need your help going door-to-door and on the phone. We also need your help on Election Day.
